Indiana State guard Kelyn Block's first game
back from a knee injury will likely be Thursday's trip to Missouri
Valley Conference rival Bradley.
"I think that's the one we're shooting
for," Block said before Friday's practice.
Block injured his right knee in the Sycamores'
Dec. 29 home loss to Bowling Green. On Jan. 4, he had surgery
to repair a torn muscle near his kneecap. Friday was his first
practice.
Since then, the Sycamores (4-13 overall, 2-6
in the MVC) have gone 2-4.
The 6-foot-2, 200-pound senior from Kansas
has missed playing. Block has team-high averages in scoring at
12.9 points per game, assists at 3 and minutes at 34. He had
never missed a game before the injury, making 104 consecutive
appearances.

"It's been rough," Block said. "But
it's almost over."
On Sunday, Coach Royce Waltman's Sycamores
play host to Southwest Missouri State (9-11, 4-4) at 5:05 p.m.
in Hulman Center, following a 2 p.m. women's game between ISU
and Wichita State. Block will be in street clothes one more time.
"He will not be in uniform on Sunday,"
ISU head athletic trainer Dave Ralston said Friday. "We
just want to make sure he's had plenty of progression time on
the court."
Block stayed in Terre Haute to continue rehabilitation
while the team traveled to Northern Iowa and won 71-65 on Wednesday.
On Friday, Block said he felt good.
"The knee is still kind of tight. It's
something I'll just have to get used to," he said.
