Child-Adult Resource Services Inc. (C.A.R.S.), a not-for-profit organization that provides services for children and adults in 11 counties throughout West Central Indiana, is planning two fund-raising events in October to coincide with the activity surrounding the annual Parke County Covered Bridge Festival. Bingo is 6 p.m. Monday and Wednesday in the Purdue Extension Building at the Parke County Fairgrounds on U.S. 41, north of Rockville. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. Payton's barbecue sandwiches will be available and raffles will be conducted both nights. Raffle items were donated by local merchants and citizens to benefit the services offered by C.A.R.S. Thursday will feature a hog roast at 4:30 p.m. and live entertainment at 6 p.m., including Mark Nolin, Chaos, Club 2000 and an open microphone for other talent. These activities will be adjacent to the C.A.R.S. building, off Dormeyer Avenue in Rockville. Another raffle is planned for that evening. |
