Anton Hulman Jr., known simply as Tony, made a lasting imprint on the dynasty and on Terre Haute. During his time at the head of the family, the Hulmans made many philanthropic gifts while at the same time expanding the family fortune. Tony's purchase of the Speedway turned the family's focus east.

Today, the Hulman George family mulls its future in Terre Haute as the 150th anniversary of its arrival in the city approaches. Having closed its original wholesale grocery venture, the family, with Tony George at the wheel, is putting increased emphasis on motor sports.
